This is a vintage book of "Moso Eigakan" (Imaginary Movie Theater) by Genpei Akasegawa, published in 1984.

Genpei Akasegawa was a Japanese avant-garde artist, essayist, and writer.

This book is a collection of Akasegawa's illustrations and words, which were serialized in the magazine "Kinema Junpo" in the early 1980s.

The beginning reads, "This is a movie theater. But instead of showing movies with electricity, we show them with the power of imagination. The fact that the screen is filled with printed words is old-fashioned, but there are also pictures. With the pictures and text, give your imagination a jolt, and the imaginary movie will be transferred to your brain membrane, probably" (from "Introduction" of Moso Eigakan).

Through alternative interpretations of titles and the imagination, this work allows you to feel the boundless creativity of Genpei Akasegawa, including essays and freely imagined movies.
